We are continuing to work with 1-800-Petmeds, to find out how you can help our organization by ordering everyday flea products and medications click here.
The season is under way of kittens and cats needing our help. Some will be in need of TNR, some will need socializing, and lots will need foster homes while awaiting permanent homes. Our never-ending need for more foster homes continues, as do our efforts to place our cats & kittens in permanent & loving homes. As always, our fosters are working hard to socialize our cats and kittens in order to get them ready for adoption. And, even though we have been doing a great job thus far, WE NEED MORE FOSTER HOMES! We continue to get phone calls & emails every day asking us to take more kitties/cats into our program; & without adding to our limited fostering resources & volunteer base, we are forced to turn them down.
Our current fosters can be seen on our Petfinder.com site or at our weekly adoption events. Currently, in our foster program we have cats ranging from 1+ years) and a few kittens. It is guaranteed that more foster homes will be needed to allow us to take in the influx of kittens that have been born these last few months. In our TNR efforts, we have been trapping kittens that could be socialized, but are returned to the colonies due to our lack of foster homes available to socialize them. It is our hopes that we will not have to continue this. New fosters with previous experience are appreciated, but experience is something you can gain while you learn. We have a great foster program that matches up less-experienced fosters with our "Foster Pros", and everyone works together to make sure that each kitten is socialized and fostered as successfully as possible. If you are interested in signing up to foster or getting more information about our foster program in general, please call or email us ASAP.
In addition to keeping busy with fostering and adoptions, we continue to maintain our TNR efforts in the parts of Yolo County that we are able to travel to. Our TNR services had been temporarily suspended due to a lack of volunteers, but we are hopeful that we will be back on track to weekly trapping very soon. We are always looking for new colonies to TNR for, as well as homes to relocate feral or semi-social cats to. Without people taking the initiative to send in a TNR form or call/email us with their concerns for these feral cats we are unable to help alter them and thus create non-reproductive colonies.
PLEASE EMAIL US IF YOU KNOW OF A COLONY IN NEED OF TNR OR IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING OUTDOOR CATS/BARN CATS.
We are continuously looking for new volunteers to join our cause. The effort we have been able to put forth lately has been far below our standards simply because we have lacked the man-power of volunteers. All it takes to become a member is the desire to help our cause & feral cats in general. Volunteers help in a number of ways. Fostering and socializing kittens and cats is a very important aspect of the FFO, as well as the TNR'ing of feral cat colonies. Outside of direct contact with the cats, we also do a lot of fundraising and public awareness. Donations are always greatly appreciated (in the form of money or supplies).

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for either fostering or TNR, please contact us at info@feralfeline.org. Please see our "Donations" page if you are interested in more information about donating to our organization.
