A new year will bring with it a new flood of kittens and cats needing our help. Some will be in need of TNR, some will need socializing, and lots will need foster homes while awaiting permanent homes. Our never-ending need for more foster homes continues, as do our efforts to place our cats & kittens in permanent & loving homes. As always, our fosters are working hard to socialize our cats and kittens in order to get them ready for adoption. And, even though we have been doing a great job thus far, WE NEED MORE FOSTER HOMES! Preparing for this year's kitten season, we will soon be getting phone calls & emails every day asking us to take more kitties/cats into our program; & without adding to our limited fostering resources & volunteer base, we will be forced to turn them down.
Our current fosters can be seen on our Petfinder.com site or at our weekly adoption events. Currently, in our foster program we have a few kittens reaching juvenile status (6 months-1 year) and a handful of adult cats (mostly young adults 1-3 years old). It is guaranteed that more foster homes will be needed to allow us to take in the influx of kittens that will be been born over the next few months. In our TNR efforts, we will soon be trapping kittens that could be socialized. It is our hopes that we will not have to return them to the colonies they were trapped from because of a lack of foster home availability. New fosters with previous experience are appreciated, but experience is something you can gain while you learn. We have a great foster program that matches up less-experienced fosters with our "Foster Pros", and everyone works together to make sure that each kitten is socialized and fostered as successfully as possible. If you are interested in signing up to foster or getting more information about our foster program in general, please call or email us ASAP.
In addition to keeping busy with fostering and adoptions, we are still continuing our TNR efforts in areas of Yolo County (mostly in Davis and Woodland). Last year alone, we managed to trap a gratifying number of adult cats. While we are in the process of helping a few colonies already, we are always looking for new colonies to TNR for, as well as homes to relocate feral or semi-social cats to. Without people taking the initiative to send in a TNR form or call/email us with their concerns for these feral cats we are unable to help alter them and thus create non-reproductive colonies.
PLEASE EMAIL US IF YOU KNOW OF A COLONY IN NEED OF TNR OR IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING OUTDOOR CATS/BARN CATS.

We are continuously looking for new volunteers to join our cause. Members can be UC Davis students as well as concerned community members in and around the Sacramento Area. Volunteers help in a number of ways. Fostering and socializing kittens and cats is a very important aspect of the FFO, as well as the TNR'ing of feral cat colonies. Outside of direct contact with the cats, we also do a lot of fundraising and public awareness. Donations are always greatly appreciated (in the form of money or supplies). If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for either fostering or TNR, please contact us at info@feralfeline.org. Please see our "Donations" page if you are interested in more information about donating to our organization.
